Ile de Jersey, juin 2012
Rien ne vaut une certaine simplicité.

Is there anything better than simplicity?

St Mary, Jersey Island, Channel Islands, juillet 2012
You never know what to expect while on vacation:
A metal sculpture, modern version of a devil’s figurehead coming from a ship destroyed in 1851 just off the coast.

La lecture au menu vacances
Normandie, Courseulles, 2011
Reading is on the holiday menu
What am I reading these days ? “Une certaine histoire d’amour”, A love affair to some extent (I can’t find the title in English.) Seppo Lappalainen (1936-2001) is a Finnish author. I like his writing style. Unfortunately I can’t find any translation of his other writings. Perhaps Hpy or someone else knows something about this author.
Is there any book you would like to recommend?

La pellicule du temps
Tournefeuille, juillet 2012
Processing time
Spring has done its work and is now gone.
The rain comes and goes following its own will.
Pruning has been done. I would prefer not to write about how the grape vine’s problems are treated … sulfur is right now applied.
Bridal veils have been stretched over the top of the grape vines to keep the birds away.
Now it is time for the grapes to slowly mature through the summer.

Dans le champ voisin
Tournefeuille, juillet 2012 Dipsacus fullonum
In a nearby field:
1 One can enjoy wild teasels… time does not count…
2 On coupe…
2 One cuts…
3
bas ? Les mettre au frais ?
Les peindre ?
3 One arranges the teasels
in a bouquet to feel them near. Would
you have any advice to keep the bouquet looking good? Hang them upside down?
Put them in a cool place? Paint them?

Sainte Foy La Grande, Juin 2012
Une bonne occasion de montrer cette affiche.
A good opportunity (July 14th) to show French humor through this poster presentation:
“We are all a little bit dumb but... we all have ambition”
*The pigeon:
"Se faire passer pour un pigeon" which could be translated by "To be played for a sucker"
*The rooster:
a truly French symbol sometimes used for national pride...
Perhaps someone has a better clarification?

Sweet world of flowers :
I did not fall asleep next to the Valerian…
Le charme des chardons
Under the spell of thistles
Au milieu des coquelicots rouges…
In the middle of red poppies…
Fraisiers et Asplenium
Strawberries and Asplenium
Flacourtia Inermis
Unusual Indian plums for the area
Pas tres approprié : ce champignon…
Not very adequate: this mushroom…
Et que dire de la Piloselle?
What about the hawkweed?
